Medals sponsored and issued by Convair; struck in their Tooling Dept. Plant 2, San Diego from design by C. L. Deck; 125,000 Aluminum pieces issued of which 12 were Gold-plated; also "small number" struck in Copper. Medals were presented by Convair, maker of Atlas missile, to visitors at new plant dedication July 12, 1958; one of Gold-plated specimens given to 10,000th such guest.
