CALIFORNIA ADMISSION DAY CELEBRATION
1912
STOCKTON, CA
Each year, upon anniversary of California's admission
to Statehood, Sept. 9, 1850, Native Sons of the Golden West sponsors
celebration in some one California city. Medal actually issued by N.S.G.W.
"parlor" at Placerville, CA, 60 miles north of Stockton in Mother Lode
country; nicknamed "Hangtown" because of numerous hangings there during Gold
